A month in Utah

Well, this past month just flew by.  Jared's interviews went well and we enjoyed spending time with family.  The first couple weeks we stayed with my parents.  When my younger bro's headed home from Wyoming we stayed at my awesome Aunt Michelle's beautiful condo just a mile down the road.  It was great having our own place and we really enjoyed our vacation.  I just love my family, and Jared's family and this trip couldn't have been any better.
Grandma and Grandpa Richards.
Santa brought Jax a train set.  He LOVES it!

Hmmmmmmm.....

I got this in the mail today.    What, doesn't the post office know the Johnson family?  Certainly they should have known this Christmas card was meant to go to my awesome friend Emily Johnson who lives in Cal?  hmmmmm.  Well Em, sorry this never made it past the post office.  I guess this got mixed up with the other 49 cards    :)  I bet someone got a laugh out of my pre- holiday travel madness brainless moment.
p.s.   I need your address, obviously :)

Dear Santa..

Dear oh Dear Santa,

I've been a really good girl this year and the only thing I want for Christmas is a calm, content and happy baby......I hope that's not too much to ask. If it is too much to ask, then I really want a good pair of ear plugs. Thanks.

Much Love,

Laura

So Thankful!

My heart is so full of thanks. Happy Thanksgiving.

Let the smiling begin!

I guess it could be gas, but to me it's a smile and a smile is a smile. Love this little guy.

Church+ 2 kids =

Moderate craziness! I know, I know... all you mommies with more than 2 kids are rolling your eyes, right? But still, it's tough with no hubby sitting next to you. He's been sitting up on the stand since Jax was first born.
Good thing sweet Sister Wallace, our bishop's wife, sat next to me today and helped out with the boys. Jax was a little whiny because church is now from 1-4pm which is exactly the time he usually naps. And the brand new church building is in Hilliard which is 30 minutes away. Ouch. That's a long day of church. Good thing it's a good thing, right?

This picture makes me laugh. It's such a huge production getting ready these days. Here we are almost ready to go outside to play. As you can see neither little guy seems very happy. Jax still refuses to hold his brother for a picture. But we are making progress. He will now kiss Tyce's head and give him his binky.

Cutie!

Some babies....

Are described as "easy"...................

I love Tyce to pieces............

But he definitely does not belong in that category.....

Crying, high pitched grunting, pooping, farting, swallowing air, gassy, furrowed brow, spitting up, arching his back, sad sad sad.............

I am doing the best I can................

I am doing the best I can...............

Okay, pep talk is over...................

Off to hold the screaming baby

10 things.

10 things that make me happy at the moment.....

1. Yes on prop 8! Hooray for traditional marriage!
2. Jax being a parrot and copying everything I say....it's so cute!
3. Jared absolutely killing his step 2 board exam... what a smartie pants :)
4. finding cheap-ish tickets online to fly home for the entire month of December. Sweet! Now we don't have to make the horrific drive.
5. Finding gas at $1.70 a gallon.
6. Watching the Office on Thursday nights with Jared.
7. Working out with Stephanie. Everyone needs a good workout buddy.
8. The fact that at this moment Tyce isn't grunting his cute little head off.
9. How nursing gives you big boobs. uh, too much info? Well, it makes me happy so it makes the list :)

10 things that make me sad at the moment....

1. The economy, and our one unfortunate investment move.
2. When Jax tries to wrestle with me when I'm trying to nurse the munchkin.
3. Ohio...come on, I thought you were going to come out red through and through..
4. Cloudy and cold weather today after an Indian summer trend the past week...
5. Not being able to drink diet coke or eat chocolate because of Tyce's tummy issues..
6. The sudden dynamic increase in laundry after Tyce's arrival and Jax's new interest in dirt.
7. Jax breaking the lamp in my bedroom. I really liked that lamp, and needed it too.
8. Not being able to see my brothers play in their college basketball games.
9. When it gets dark at 5:30 pm.
10. Baby throw up.....yucky to my tummy (as Jax would say)

Happy Halloween!

Jax the monkey was not too thrilled at first with his costume. He has this "thing" about having any item of clothing near or around his head, so he was not cooperating at first. But then he came around and was excited to trick-or-treat with Jared and our little neighbor friend Mia.

Jax and Mia.

Little Tyce was so cute in his hand me down Halloween clothes from Jax. We took him out in the 65 degree weather and introduced him to all our awesome neighbors. I love living in Worthington.

Week One

Lots of snuggling. They grow up so fast! Tyce loves to be held.
This cute little Halloween onesie is just adorable. Thanks mom!

My mom is so amazing and was such a HUGE help this last week. She came in for 5 days and cooked and cleaned and played with Jax and let me take naps and I could go on and on. I love my mom so much. What would I do without her?!?

We even snuck in a quick shopping outing to Filene's while Jared watched the boys....(so, it was very quick indeed)

Little Tyce is eating like a champ and sleeping reasonably well. He is such a sweet little guy. He also makes such funny faces. I just love him to pieces!

Of course, big brother Jax is STILL in denial that baby brother is here to stay. I could not get a good picture of the two of them to save my life. Here's the best I could get. I would ask Jax to sit next to his brother and he kept saying, "nope, nope, nope....." Some day these two will be good buddies.

He's Here!

Tyce Romney Miner
Born October 20th, 2008 12:30 am
7 lb 12 oz, 21 inches long

This cute little guy came all on his own early Monday morning. I knew I was going into labor after I returned home from church. I guess wrestling with a toddler during sacrament meeting is a great way to induce labor :)
He is worth the VERY painful birth. I went to the hospital at 8 pm, and got my epidural at 10. I was so comfortable after that, I actually fell asleep for a couple hours. Well, I woke up at midnight and I could feel my contractions and they were coming hard and fast. I forcefully pushed the epidural button to dose up, but by this time I had dilated to a 10 and was ready to push. I could feel it all, and the pain was a shock to my system. Luckily I was only in agony for 15 minutes and he came out to meet the world!
Jax was so funny when he finally met Tyce in that he was completely indifferent to his existence whatsoever. The only thing Jax wanted to do was take my hand and guide me out the door to a cool fountain that we wanted to play in. So typical of him. Hopefully he'll show some interest in his brother soon.
My cute little boys. I could not be happier!! More pics to come.

38 Weeks....

And stretched to the max! Come out little guy. Maybe a few jumping jacks at the gym tonight will help him along. Kidding. (sort of)
