I've been in a blogging rut, it's true. I've been busy with life as I know everyone is. Here are a few things that are keeping me busy and somewhat frazzled at times:
*Justifyably feeling like a single mom. All you former, current and future resident wives know, or will know what I am talking about.
* Being in charge of our finances and trying to fit our tiny square budget into a circular grocery list, including diapers for two bums, size 3 and size 5, lots of wet wipes because my kids poop 10 times more than normal kids, and Nutramigen formula, which hurts my heart everytime I look at the ridiculous price tag.
* Trying to work out- without a gym. I actually enjoy this: road biking up Hobble Creek Canyon, running, lifting weights at home, including holding hand weights and doing one leg lunges on my stairs. ahhhh, the burn.
* Studying to become a certified personal trainer. It's a slow process- who knows when I'll actually take the test- maybe after intern year.....yeah, that''s probably good timing.
* cleaning my house endlessly, picking up toys, clothes, spilled food, vomit- you know the drill. I clean my house and it's a mean trick because it never stays totally clean for long.
* Laundry mountain. I have a puker and a toddler who is still learning how to use utensils properly and our clothes just never pass the smell or quick glance test when the day is through- thus laundry mountain every other day.
* reading about politics and talking with my mom about how there are communists in the White House circle of influence and how they are revolutionists and how scary their thought process is and how horrendously stupid Obamacare is and how the term "secret combinations" is a total 100% reality in our day in age....I could go on, and on....but I might just hit my computer screen.
* Planning for playgroup. Jax is in a group with 5 other kids. He's the only one who's not potty trained, which leads me to...
* researching ways to potty train the impossible child: feeling frustrated that Jax shows no interest or understanding whatsoever in the concept of not crapping in his pants. He just doesn't see why in the world things need to be any different. Not only does he not care when he is dirty, he's not passionate enough about any one particular thing to be bribed. He likes juice boxes, so I bought him some last week, and every time he asks for one I patiently tell him that he may have a juice box if he goes potty in the toilet, to which he replies, " okay, I have a sippy cup of water?". He just doesn't care.
Life is good though, I have to say. I get caught up in the little frustrations sometimes but I try to always stop and enjoy the moments, whether they be chaotic or peaceful. My adorable boys are getting bigger and older and I don't want it to pass me by because I'm so busy trying to super multi-task my way through the weeks. I love the complexities of motherhood and the wonderful journey it is. I just need to keep perspective that these precious years when my kids are little are just a blink of an eye in the eternal perspective.
