Yesterday I was at the gym when the news of the Connecticut school massacre flashed on every TV screen. I was shaken to the very core. I couldn't finish my workout. I picked up Jovi who was being an angel in her car seat right next to the elliptical and headed home to Jared and the boys.
When I returned home I broke down in sobs as Jared met me in the garage and held me tight. No words needed to be said. He had heard the news too. All the while I'm holding him I can hear inside my sweet Kindergartner playing Christmas songs on the piano.
My love for him and my sorrow for all those parents who lost their little ones just overcame me. I cannot even believe the degree of evil that exists.
Rarely am I so shaken at a news story that happened so far away....
I thanked the Lord that night for my life and for my children. I thanked Him for my son who returned home so happy from his school that day.
I pleaded for our Heavenly Father to comfort those who need Him the most right now.
