Taking a blogging break. Merry Christmas and Happy New year everyone!

Wednesday, December 2, 2009

Since it's now officially dang cold outside, I'm already missing the sunny days of summer. Jax is too. He asks me daily to go outside and play with the dirt and hose. Nope- sorry kiddo. I hate to plop my kids in front of Aladdin or Elmo or Super Why...but sometimes you just gotta. On this particular day I took them bowling with some other intern wives and their kiddos. Jax was pretty chill the entire time and didn't get too excited about anything in particular. He just liked observing, and I could tell his brain was just on fire trying to figure out how the ball comes back out and studying the angles in which the ball knocks over the pins.

After rolling the ball off the ramp he would immediately get into this position. I bet you can't say you've witnessed the pins being knocked over from this angle before :)

Jax is just goofy sometimes. He still doesn't like Tyce..which is getting me frustrated. I force social activity to help Jax learn how to get along, but I know when to back off. I don't want to traumatize the kid.
Tyce LOVED the bowling balls and wanted to hold them all.
He was quite fascinated with the whole thing. He's adorable!!! Oh, and btw...this kid never takes a binki but found this one in the car somehow and decided it belonged in his mouth. Funny kid.

Happy Halloween!

Thomas the Tank Engine was excited for candy this year. Last year he refused to eat candy so this was a lot more fun :)
Tyce was a sad little turtle. I don't think he liked his costume and just didn't feel like enjoying the festivities.

Thanks Jason and Charlotte for a great Halloween party!

My boys both loved the dirt more than they loved picking out a pumpkin.
Tyce in awe....again :)
Staring at the construction site across the street.

pumpkin patch

It was FREEZING- but the boys were troopers to sit and let me take their picture.

Tyce was completely enthralled with a digger in action across the street. I couldn't get him to stop staring :)

50% trained

My Jax man is 50 % potty trained. He will pee in any toilet anywhere, but I have to ask him if he needs to go. Sometimes he says he needs to go, and will go and other times he says he doesn't need to go, and goes in his diaper/pull-up/Thomas the tank engine underwear. He loves going potty at Grandma's house and requests a visit to her house on a daily basis to use her toilet. Unfortunately Jax still poops in his diaper and will always say no when I ask if he has any poop he needs to put in the toilet. I guess that will come. I am just thrilled that the # of diapers I've purchased in the last month has gone down significantly. So here's to small steps in the right direction!!!! And speaking of steps, Tyce is WALKING!!!! I love the stage where they are walking but still a little wobbly. It doesn't last long so I'm enjoying every minute of it :)

He devoured his cake with no hesitation whatsoever

I love this picture of Jared and Tyce. Adorable!
I would show what his real presents were, but he enjoyed the tissue paper so much he couldn't stop squealing so I thought I'd show his excitement.
He couldn't wait to eat this cake....he LOVED his big day. Happy birthday Tycer

Tyce

My baby turned ONE on October 20th. Jared was on call that day so we are celebrating his birthday this Sunday, so I'll share the cake and party pics later. This little boy is a firecracker and lives life with spunk and energy. I have 2 very different boys. Tyce is a mama's boy and loves to hang on my pant leg whenever I'm in the same room, which is almost all the time because he still screams when I leave his sight. I have no choice but to leave the room he's in sometimes and I am hoping with enough experience, he'll learn that mommy comes back when she says she'll be back. I'm crossing my fingers as I write this hoping it will come true :)
He is taking one nap, but seems to really need 2. He falls asleep like an angel at nighttime, but seems to always wake up at least 2 times during the night. A binki insert and blanket snuggle usually calms him right down. He doesn't seem to like to read books yet. I try to plop him on my lap and open a book, but he just immediately squirms away and closes the book shut. I can't imagine him not liking books, as Jax absolutely loves to read. I try really hard to treat them both as individuals and not compare, but sometimes it's hard. They are so different. Tyce is loud and yells and throws little fits. I can't recall the last time Jax did any of those things. Tyce will eat anything and everything he can get his little fingers on; Jax is very indifferent about food in general. Tyce does not play well independently and Jax is so good at entertaining himself and at Tyce's age could play for very long periods of time by himself. I love my Tycer and he's so adorable and feisty and has these big brown eyes that just melt my heart. He's walking and it's the cutest thing to watch him take those Frankenstein steps. He's in love with his brother and wants to be wherever Jax is. We are still working on helping Jax learn how to like his brother. I'm in love with my little boys.

He escaped the house and found the hose. It was 50 degrees outside but he didn't seem to care.... We've now added a chain locks to our doors due to his ability to open knobs that have the plastic covers on them. This kids loves the dirt and water. What am I going to do this winter?

Stay Tuned for Updates......

Rain Rain Go Away

They both stood by the window for the longest time wanting to go play in the rain. I told them it wasn't going to happen. Some days you feel like engaging in fun/messy/cold/do- it- for- the-memories moments of spontaneity. But this wasn't one of those days. And that's okay too.

Sadness

Now, usually I am not one to stick my camera in the face of such misery and usually attend to such misery with swiftness. But I had to capture a glimpse of my life as of late. This has been going on for quite some time now, and I'm just.........tired.
Today Tyce was happily eating in his high chair when I had the audacity to say, "I'll be right back sweetie" and go upstairs to pee. His happy chatting turned to full rage. Grunts, yells, body convulsing, snot-running- down -the- nose/mouth/neck- fury. When I was finished peeing at olympic speed I went downstairs to find this face waiting for me. Please let this be a short phase. Please.

days go by

Things that keep us busy
Enjoying visits from Grammy and Grandpa Miner
Hiking around Sundance Resort
Rocks in the water= Jax's heaven
BBQ picnic up American Fork Canyon with the Richards family

Loving my boys

He's 3

I made him a cake with a # 3 on it. He thought it was cool, but just like his birthday cake last year he wouldn't touch it. He opted for a bowl of cheerios sprinkled with cocoa krispies instead. Funny kid.
He blew out each candle one at a time. I actually couldn't figure out how he did that they were so close together. Afterwards he asked for me to light them one more time so he could blow them out again.

I love my handsome little man.

Show me how the piggies eat!

Be a good boy. Show mommy how the piggies eat.
And no, he hasn't seen "A Christmas Story" yet :) Someday I'll show him that masterpiece but this was just random goofiness.
