Happy Halloween!

Jax the monkey was not too thrilled at first with his costume. He has this "thing" about having any item of clothing near or around his head, so he was not cooperating at first. But then he came around and was excited to trick-or-treat with Jared and our little neighbor friend Mia.

Jax and Mia.

Little Tyce was so cute in his hand me down Halloween clothes from Jax. We took him out in the 65 degree weather and introduced him to all our awesome neighbors. I love living in Worthington.

Week One

Lots of snuggling. They grow up so fast! Tyce loves to be held.
This cute little Halloween onesie is just adorable. Thanks mom!

My mom is so amazing and was such a HUGE help this last week. She came in for 5 days and cooked and cleaned and played with Jax and let me take naps and I could go on and on. I love my mom so much. What would I do without her?!?

We even snuck in a quick shopping outing to Filene's while Jared watched the boys....(so, it was very quick indeed)

Little Tyce is eating like a champ and sleeping reasonably well. He is such a sweet little guy. He also makes such funny faces. I just love him to pieces!

Of course, big brother Jax is STILL in denial that baby brother is here to stay. I could not get a good picture of the two of them to save my life. Here's the best I could get. I would ask Jax to sit next to his brother and he kept saying, "nope, nope, nope....." Some day these two will be good buddies.

He's Here!

Tyce Romney Miner
Born October 20th, 2008 12:30 am
7 lb 12 oz, 21 inches long

This cute little guy came all on his own early Monday morning. I knew I was going into labor after I returned home from church. I guess wrestling with a toddler during sacrament meeting is a great way to induce labor :)
He is worth the VERY painful birth. I went to the hospital at 8 pm, and got my epidural at 10. I was so comfortable after that, I actually fell asleep for a couple hours. Well, I woke up at midnight and I could feel my contractions and they were coming hard and fast. I forcefully pushed the epidural button to dose up, but by this time I had dilated to a 10 and was ready to push. I could feel it all, and the pain was a shock to my system. Luckily I was only in agony for 15 minutes and he came out to meet the world!
Jax was so funny when he finally met Tyce in that he was completely indifferent to his existence whatsoever. The only thing Jax wanted to do was take my hand and guide me out the door to a cool fountain that we wanted to play in. So typical of him. Hopefully he'll show some interest in his brother soon.
My cute little boys. I could not be happier!! More pics to come.

38 Weeks....

And stretched to the max! Come out little guy. Maybe a few jumping jacks at the gym tonight will help him along. Kidding. (sort of)

No baby yet!

Still only 1 cm dilated....this kiddo just likes the womb. Every pregnancy is different! Jax was easy and he was 5 weeks early. This one's been real tough and he's cooking full term. I wonder if this is any indication of how different their personalities will be...Oh, I can't wait to meet this little guy and just snuggle him to pieces!!!!

cheap entertainment

My favorite show to watch lately is Wheel of Fortune. Why?? Because Jax absolutely LOVES it and goes crazy when the letters pop up. I just sit back and laugh at how excited he gets. He points at the letters and says them over and over and gets a big kick out of the whole thing. He gets a little frustrated when the commercials come on because he is wondering where the letters went. We knew he loved his ABC's but laughed so hard when he first saw this show and got so excited. So now I've found three things that Jax will watch on TV. Wheel of Fortune, music videos on CMT, and Elmo's world DVD's.

He also loves playing the counting game and the ABC game on fisherprice.com. I'm usually sitting there with him, but this was just too cute.

Veeps

I was a little nervous to watch Sarah Palin debate at first: she has had some less than stellar moments in interviews recently (I don't like Katie Couric) and I really wanted her to do well. At first I thought her answers seemed a little rehearsed, almost like she was giving mini speeches, but she quickly became more relaxed and I thought she did a great job. I really like specifically how she talks. It's such a breath of fresh air to hear a down to earth mom use down to earth language that people understand and are comfortable with. I am tired of hearing the same old politicians say the same things in the same manner, tone, fluctuation, etc. She is really likable and it came through last night. In my opinion she made some strong points against Obama. Biden also made some very strong points against McCain. People are obsessed with labeling one the winner or loser. In my opinion they both did well, but obviously I am supporting Palin's message, and I think she came across better in general. I get really frustrated at times watching these debates because numbers and statistics and voting records are thrown around and used and twisted; it's impossible to know the truth of the data, the context, the exact dollar amount, etc. I'm glad I watched it, and I'm glad it's over. I would have rather watched the Office.
