Picky picky picky!
I realize many toddlers are picky eaters, but come on! Jax is going through a tough phase right now where all he will eat is: Milk, juice, shredded cheddar cheese, cheerios and goldfish crackers. That is pretty much it. He also slugs down those expensive gerber canned pastas. He eats no fruits and veggies, aside from an occasional banana, and he won't even try a single sugary treat. I feel bad because if he doesn't like what is on his tray, he just won't eat. I'll ask him if he's done and he'll say yes. He'd go all day without eating if it meant he had to eat anything besides the mentioned foods. He is just very weary of trying new foods and the moment they come near his mouth he squirms and protests and wants nothing to do with it. Will he just grow out of it I wonder?

Sister,
I am 25 and there still is no chance in heck I will come 10 feet within mom's chicken casserole. ew sick. So, it is hard to say whether or not Jax will get over this. By the way, my wife is craving salty foods and I am thinking of going to costco and buying a year supply of morton salt to satisfy her craving. :)
well those are the best foods you know...goldfish and juice etc. you could try stuff that he can dip...like pancakes cut w/ cookie cutter shapes and he can dip in a small bowl of syrup...or chicken in ketcup. you could try sticking toothpicks in stuff and see if that makes it more fun to eat. or just trying to distract him with toys and sneak food into his mouth! goodluck! i still have trouble gettin my kids to eat.
Ashley is totally in the same phase right now (at least I am hoping it is a phase). She goes through a gallon and a half of milk a week, and all she wants are goldfish crackers, and cereal. I can get her to eat a few fruits, but no meat and no veggies. Let me know if you discover any great secrets. Maybe it is just the age? Good luck!
I have some picky eaters myself! And yes he will grow out of it to a new fun stage! I just always tell myself they won't starve! At least that is what my dr tells me! Good luck.
Frustrating...Elliot is the same way. He'll only eat about 4 different things at a time, then they 4 things switch after a few weeks. But of course none of those things are healthy or cheap. I sure hope it's a phase or he's going to be skin and bones soon.
Love all your posts! Cute pics and videos!
That has got to be annoying! I remember something Shannon Sundberg told me about the number of times you should expose your kids to something before you should give up.I wish I knew the number. I also remember her saying that it is your job to provide healthy choices and your child's job to choose whether or not they eat it. I'm sure he'll grow out of it, too!
Oh man, this post made me feel better! I feel like Eli eats the same handful of foods OVER and over again, and would never eat by choice - I always feel like I'm talking him into it! Anyway, thanks for sharing with a mom who's always wondering if it's "just me . . .?"
